January 2026
Saturday January 2nd Steve and I were headed to a party for the 50th anniversary of Bill and Rebecca Boehm when we saw this interesting light in the sky.
We speculated--
A drone . . .
A UFO . . .
Christ descending in Glory . . . ?
We found out the next day that it was a rocket launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base
The last Sunday in December, which is almost January, I gave a lesson on the Proclamation on the Family in Relief Society. I used this picture, which was heavily advertised during the Christmas season as an AI puppy companion (it is totally FAKE), to prompt discussion of the dangers of AI companions. Always something to be wary of with new technologies
I know this is out of sequence, but I didn't want to start off with a funeral! Elder Jeffery R. Holland was a native of St. George, so on January 1st, the day after his funeral service in Salt Lake City, he was brought home to St. George for internment.
There were lots of people who braved the rain to pay last respects.
I was gifted an amaryllis plant for Christmas, and I have totally enjoyed watching it bloom
Steve and I drove to Las Vegas on January 18th to meet Chris and Heidi for dinner. We had a delicious and entertaining meal at a small Korean BBQ place, and this business was in the same parking lot. The sign was too great not to get the picture!
Always remember . . .
